Changing perspectives - The learnings from my 3-month Interrail trip

November 2024

This blogpost describes many of the personal learnings that I made on my 3-month interrail trip in 2023. It was my intention to define one overall learning and one specific one for each country I visited. So you’ll find a lot of interesting learnings in this blogpost…

How avoiding a flight opened many opportunities on the way

August 2024

When I was invited to a “birthday vacation” in Portugal, I just thought that I should also be able to find a way to get there without using a plane. And it was a very good decision, because I kept finding more and more opportunities the further I went into the planning…

What about a food culture change for a better future?
March 2024

The food we are eating has always been changing since thousands of years ago. So why shouldn’t we move this ongoing change in the direction of healthier and more environmentally friendly nutrition in our food cultures across the world?

Travel Blog

Traveling can be immensely important for learning about the differences between societies in our world and opening one’s mind for new ideas and approaches, as well as developing personally and with our human society as a whole. It may be more effective to learn by one’s own experiences, but I’m hoping to accelerate learning and understanding by sharing some of my findings. Thus, I am describing the reflections about my experiences and what I learned from it for the future.

The objective of this blog is to present you what life is like in different places/ societies/ situations and explain my personal thoughts in order to make you reflect about your current beliefs, values and ideas by creating an awareness of everything else that is out there and maybe outside of your bubble. Learn from someone else’s experiences and mistakes before making them yourself.

Guides and Tips

When staying in a place for a longer time or going off the beaten track, it is more likely to discover less known places and unique experiences. I believe that keeping those places and things to oneself is a shame. They shouldn’t be overrun either, but this shouldn’t happen so fast. For you, I try to gather and summarize some tips and tricks of the places I have traveled to so far.

Reflections about life and society

Generally, I really dislike unnecessary problems, wastes of time and things that overall go bad or could at least go better. In a small scale I can find solutions to make processes go more efficient and avoid reocurring problems. Lately, I have found myself philosophing about the larger problems, too though. Starting from personal development and going up to the large challenges we’re facing worldwide like climate change, increasing inequality and the opportunities and risks through digitalization and automatization many thoughts have come to my mind.

Writing about them helps me structuring the vague ideas and bringing them in a bigger context. Maybe these posts will also make you think about these questions and ideas. It would be great if we could start some constructive discussions about my posts, which netiher are final solutions nor scientific articles.

Favorite Recipes

This site is supposed to develop into a collection of my own and my friend’s favorite recipes from all around the world. Besides the ingredients and instructions I make an effort to explain the origen of the plate and what makes it special.

Landscape & Travel Photography

During my travels I developed an excitement for capturing my favourite views with a camera. Luckily, I had the chance to participate in a short photography course by National Geographic, which taught me to reflect a little bit more about the frame and story of my pictures.

It will take some time until the quality of my pictures is good enough for larger prints and constantly on the same level as those of most other photographs. By now, I was able to take some that are too good not too be shared though.
